Doesn't this book have a gorgeous cover? For this giveaway I'm asking you to post a comment about Jane Austen type books. I, for one, have never read anything penned by Jane Austen. I know, it's odd. But until I read Before the Season Ends (which I really enjoyed) I had not read anything remotely similar to Austen. So have you read any Austen books? If so, what is your favorite? I will pick a winner next Sunday, May 10th, after I conclude my Mother's Day festivities. :) Please leave me a way to contact you if you win. This contest is limited to USA and Canadian residents only. Peace!
About the book:
As Ariana Forsythe plans her wedding to Philip Mornay, she must adjust to the realization that she is soon to become the wife of an extremely wealthy man. She wonders if it’s wrong to rejoice that her future husband is rich. But she promises herself to use her new position to do what she can to aid the numerous street waifs she sees all too often in London.
During a tour of her future home—the house in Grosvenor Square—Ariana makes plans to redecorate according to her tastes. But when Philip arrives home later, he is informed that an expensive silver candlestick and a miniature portrait of George III have gone missing. Moreover, each time Ariana visits the house, accompanied by a friend or relation, another item disappears.
Shortly thereafter Ariana is abducted as she leaves a performance at Covent Garden Theatre, leaving Philip to unravel the pieces of the mystery. Where has his future bride been taken, and by whom? For what reason? How does Ariana’s faith play a role?
Finally, after the safe return of his intended, how does Philip—a man of intense discrimination in his tastes—find the many alterations in his house? And what on earth is behind the sudden influx of bills from every charity in London, all thanking him profusely for his uncommon generosity? Will he have second thoughts about his future bride?

I so want to read this book! Pleae, please, please enter me in the drawing! I absolutely adore Jane Austen and have been wanting to read on of Linore's books since they are the same period. My favorite Austen book would have to be Pride & Prejudice since I feel like a kindred spirit to Elizabeth Bennett! LOL I actually love all of Austen's books and read and re-read them until I must purchase new copies! LOL I'm on my second and third copies of some of them! LOL

This book sounds wonderful (I also love the cover!). Although I haven't read any books by Jane Austen, I absolutely loved the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knigtley! Thanks for a chance to win!

I am so looking forward to reading this book. I have read all of Jane Austen's books. Persuasion is my favorite with Pride and Prejudice coming in second. Ms. Burkard's style is similar in many ways to Austen's. Please enter my name. Thanks.

I do love Jane Austen and it's hard to pick a favorite but... Pride and Prejudice. Georgette Heyer also writes wonderful Regency stories with humor that I enjoy. Please add me for The House in Grosvenor Square. Thanks!

I love Jane Austen and try to read all sorts of versions done by other authors about her work. This looks like a sweet story.
I'm embarassed to say that I've never read Jane Austen.
It's funny that MEZ mentions Georgette Heyer ~ a good friend also just recommend her for Regency stories.
Please enter me for The House in Grosvenor Square.

I second Sherri's comment: Persuasion is the best Austen novel. Pride & Prejudice is more widely-known, and is my second-favorite. Most contemporary novels set in the Regency period draw comparisons to Jane Austen, but lack her really biting, ironic sense of humor, so often don't have the same "flavor". I did enjoy "North and South", though, by Elizabeth Gaskell, which is basically an industrial-age retelling of the Pride and Prejudice plot line. It is also a classic, and I highly recommend...
I love Jane Austen books. Sense and sensibility was fantastic, but her poetry is my favorite, being a poet also.
Thank you for the entry.

I am a HUGE Jane Austen fan. I was first introduced to her when I saw the movie Sense & Sensibility with Kate Winslet and then took a course on her in college. My favorite book is Pride & Prejudice. I LOVE Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy! Please enter me for your giveaway for The House in Grosvenor Square. It looks like a great read!

I have only read "Pride and Prejudice" and although the book was good, I liked the movie more than the book.
Thanks for entering me in your giveaway for The House in Grosvenor Square!

Hey! I have read four of Austen's books, and my favorite would have to be...Northanger Abbey!! I love how witty Austen was in that book; and the heroine, though sometimes frustratingly naive, was very sweet and eager to please. Plus she loved to read, which I think is a definite brownie point for her.

I've never read a Jane Austen book. Book # 1 in this series is on the top of my tbr pile. I'd love to win this second book in the series. Thanks

I love Regencies, but have not actually read a Jane Austen book. However, I love the movie versions. I think I've read every book that Georgette Heyer wrote, though, and am so glad to see Regencies in the Christian market. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Linore's book.

I've never read a Jane Austen book either... and I've never watched any of the films... and I don't plan on it! However, I was surprised a few weeks ago when I randomly picked up a Regency-style book by Julie Klassen and LOVED it. I'd never read anything in that genre before... guess I have a whole new genre of books to explore now!
I've never read any Jane Austin books, but love books in this era. Please enter me in the drawing. Thank you!

I read P&P after I saw the movie. I'd read it again.
I've started reading Pamela Afton's (I think that's her name)books from Darcy's POV. The first one was good and I'm into the second one.
I've read a couple Jane Austen books and I really enjoyed them. Of course, you have to take yourself back to the time they were written and read with that mindset or they can be somewhat irritating. We've come so far in our views of men's and women's roles since Austen's time, although some of her characters seem a little more "modern" than others.
I have not read any Jane Austen books. But I would love to read this book you are giving away. Please enter me. Thanks!
