New Giveaway! Now I'm giving away Love Finds You in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin by Pamela S. Meyers

About the book:

It’s 1933, the height of the Big-Band era, and beautiful Lake Geneva is already well established as a summertime playground for Chicago’s elite. Local girl Meg Alden works at the town newspaper, but she aspires to be a reporter—a job given only to men. When a position opens up, Meg spies an opportunity to break into the business. That is, until Jack Wallace, the son of a big-city newspaper magnate, is hired instead. Jack is drawn to Meg and suggests they combine forces to uncover a local scandal. But how can Meg work with the man who stole her job. . .and makes her pulse race?

My thoughts:

I never received this book to review so I have no comment.

The question: Do you enjoy historical novels where women desires positions held only by men (at the time?) What do you think about them?

I will select a winner next  weekend using "the Hat" randomizer program.

I think it's interesting because we see how different life is now for women and what we take for granted.

I think women who tested the waters of new careers for women were really courageous. Being a reporter would force a lady to really put herself forward. Thanks for a chance to win LFY in Geneva Lake, WI.

I enjoy reading the love finds you books and this one looks like a great story. I recently read one that was a nurse(woman) at a time when most men were nurses. I think women should be able to have the job if they can do it. one place I am not sure I like to see women is as police workers, too dangerous for them and also feel they may not be able to protect as well as a man could, we must admit they are stronger.
thanks for sharing this book.
