One of the best books I've read in awhile!
Here is a little about the book:
Young Millie Reynolds must confront the past and overcome her family's long history of destructive choices before finding her own path to freedom. Millie Reynolds knows firsthand the shame of family secrets. With an abusive father and a "nothing mama," she craves a place of true belonging. Over time, the gypsies that travel through town each spring offer acceptance. Then tragedy strikes and Millie leaves her world of poverty to join a prominent family on the other side of town. There, with the help of unlikely sources, Millie uncovers painful truths about her family's past as she struggles to face a God she believes has abandoned her. When unconditional love is offered, Millie learns the power of forgiveness and finally discovers where she belongs.

I love that this book is set during the Depression which it would be even more difficult for an abused child. I think this would be such an emotional book. I would really love to read it.

Glad I stumbled on your blog as I too love books!
Woud you believe the following peaked my interest immediately:
'...Over time, the gypsies that travel through town each spring offer acceptance...'.
Hmm, I will just have to read more about it!
Thank you and God bless,
The phrase that grabbed my attention was "she craves a place of true belonging"; my heart resonates with that feeling and longing at this time.
My favorite comment in your review was "What He wants is our hearts and He will use everything and anything to bring us to Him." This so beautiful sums up the love walk that we as Christians are on, and how we can draw others in.
This book sounds so good. I would love to win a copy of it! I need to find out how Millie learns to forgive and where she belongs!
Blessings!

My favorite quote from your review is: "I adored this author's voice, and the way she wasn't afraid to show the ugliness of life in all of it's authenticity, including how people perceive things who have been wounded." That's what makes me want to read it. I love authors who aren't afraid to grapple with the ugliness of life.
Please enter me in this giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win.

This sounds really good!
Anything that mentions unconditional love always gets my attention.
The writing voice can make or break a book for me, so your comment "I adored this author's voice" made me think, okay, I'd really like to read this.
What grabbed me from reading the blurb was the very last part. Millie learns the power of forgiveness. That is something I am struggling with. This could perhaps be a healing book for me.
Blessings!
