New giveaway! Now I'm giving away A Place of Peace by Amy Clipston!

For a chance to win this book simply post a comment that answers this question. Have you (or anyone you know) broken up with someone only to discover later that it was a mistake? Then when you wanted a relationship again it was too late?

I'll go first. I dated this cop in Syracuse, NY, and after awhile we both got busy and lost contact. He showed up at my house six months later to ask me out again and my sister was there and told him I was engaged to be married. He was hurt. Oh well, that was his choice to blow me off, right? I married the man I was engaged to and we celebrated 20 years of marriage in August of 1990. I made the right choice, obviously.

I will select a winner using the Randomizer program next Sunday so stop back and check for your name. Best wishes to you!

A Place of Peace (Kauffman Amish Bakery Series #3)

About the book:

Take a trip to Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, where you'll meet the women of the Kauffman Amish Bakery in Lancaster County. As each woman's story unfolds, you will share in her heartaches, trials, joys, dreams ... and secrets. You'll discover how the simplicity of the Amish lifestyle can clash with the 'English' way of life---and the decisions and consequences that follow. Most importantly, you will be encouraged by the hope and faith of these women, and the importance they place on their families. Miriam Lapp, who left the Amish community of Bird-in-Hand three years ago, is heartbroken when her sister calls to reveal that her mother has died suddenly. Traveling home to Pennsylvania, she is forced to face the heartache from her past, including her rift from her family and the breakup of her engagement with Timothy Kauffman. Her past emotional wounds are reopened when her family rejects her once again and she finds out that Timothy is in a relationship with someone else. Miriam discovers that the rumors that broke them up three years ago were all lies. However, when Timothy proposes to his girlfriend and Miriam's father disowns her, Miriam returns to Indiana with her heart in shambles. When Miriam's father has a stroke, Miriam returns to Pennsylvania, where her world continues to fall apart, leaving her to question her place in the Amish community and her faith in God.

My thoughts:

I don't have this book and haven't read anything by Amy Clipston so I can't give an opinion on this book. Sorry! But the story concept sounds good to me. :)

I don't know anyone who has broken up with someone then realized it was a misstake and wanted a relationship again and it was too late. My husband broke up with me and then about 1 year late he wanted to go out with me again. I almost said no but I didnt and we are married today. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book. Tore923@aol.com

I have a good friend who went through that sort of a relationship oops, or at least she thought so. About 10 years ago she met a military man and started a relationship with him. It turned into a long distance thing when he got stationed in China. They ended up breaking up shortly after and she always regretted it. Several years later they reunited while he was in town on a short leave before being deployed to Iraq. They continued their relationship once again long distance and everything seemed great. Once again things didn't work out and they broke up and lost contact. Just this last year they reconnected again while he was in Iraq and they both thought they had matured enough and thought it was now the right time to get serious. They spend a month in Europe together and had planned on moveing in together once he was stationed in Hawaii. Things were good yet she still had reservations about some things like compromising and converstaions. He dodged questions constantly and never really gave her a firm move in date. She finally said someone's got to take the next step and she bought a plane ticket to Hawaii. At that point he withdrew from her in a day or two and said it was to fast and he wasn't sure of anything yet. So after several weeks of trying to work things out she broke up with him and said this was the last time she was giving him a chance. She realized that all the times the reunited and broke up it was for a good reason. Now she has a plane ticket to Hawaii and her and another friend and I are going on a girls trip in November to vacation there!

This book sounds very intruiging. I also have not read anything from this auther but I love books set in the Amish community. Please enter me in the drawing for this book.
Thank you
Katherine

I love your questions! They really make me think. My niece was engaged to a wonderful man and then met someone else...She married the second guy and wasn't happy for one day in 6 years. Luckily, her second marriage is a wonderful one...
Many thanks, Cindi

I once dated a guy for about 2 years, we were pretty serious and had talks about getting married. However, I knew I wasn't interested in marrying him because of some recent information I learned of him. I broke up with him and then found the love of my life a year later that I married. The previous guy got in touch with me numerous times to get back together but I never wanted to. So I guess it wasn't a situation where I regretted breaking up with someone but it was hard to go through at the time but I am happily married now!

This book sounds really interesting. I have read my first Amish series recently and it was great! I'd love a chance to win this book! Thanks!

I personally haven't experienced a breakup such as that but know people who have. Had a best friend back in grade school who was madly in love with a boy that she knew and broke up with him since they didn't live close. She later came to regret that decision.

Please enter me in the giveaway.

Blessings,

My hubby and I broke up for about a day and then decided that we had to be back together. Now together for going on 28 years so I think we made the right decision. I've never known anyone who broke up and then wanted to try again too late. I"m sure that would be a rough situation.

This book sounds like it will be a great one. Would love to give it a try.
