New giveaway! Now I'm giving away A Man's Heart by Lori Copeland.

To enter the drawing for a chance to win this book simply post a comment that answers the following questions. Have you ever been left at the alter or do you know someone who has? Are couples better off calling it quits before they say I do, or should they try to make things work instead of one person standing the other one up on their wedding day? I will select a winner using the randomizer program next weekend. Have a great week!

A Man's Heart

About the book:

Jules broke off her wedding to Cruz practically at the altar. Not just once, but twice. Now the man Jules loves best can't stand the sight of her. Only for Pop could Jules have made such a sacrifice. And now Pop is gone, leaving Jules with his struggling Washington State potato farm; with a sister excluded from his will; and with a heart wounded by the sacrifice she has made on behalf of her father. It looks like strengthening her relationship with her sister and improving the prospects of the Blue Bayou farm will be Jules' chief concerns. But when cancer takes the life of her best friend, Jules finds herself caring for her friend's two small children as well as the Blue Bayou.A drought-stricken farm. A promise to a dead friend and two needy little lives. And disturbing memories stirring up a growing relationship with her sister. How can one woman handle it all?The answer lies with a God who holds the keys to yesterday, today, and tomorrow---and to the heart of the one man whom Jules could ever love.

My thoughts:

I read the first 8 chapters awhile ago but had to set the book aside due to other reviews due. It's a modern love story and starts a bit slow, but I have liked other stories I've read by Lori Copeland so I'm sure there is something special coming up that will spark between them.

I've never had a wedding and I've never been to one where the bride or groom where left at the alter. But I did attend a wedding two years ago of a female friend whom I had been on and off with for a long time. Eventually we realized it wouldn't work and stayed friends.

This history however caused a lot of rumours on the day of the wedding that I was supposedly attending just to object and try to ruin the wedding. I wasn't and I was very happy for them.

Never thought I would be considered "that guy". It was quite amusing actually.

I have never been left at the alter or have been at a wedding where the bride or groom was left at the alter. I think it doesn't happen as often like it use to because people are better off calling of the wedding before hand and working out their problems. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book. Tore923@aol.com

I have never been left at the alter, and I don't know anyone who has. I think if they have any doubts they shoud call it quits before they get to the alter. Love to read this book. Please enter me. Thanks!

I know of two young ladies who were jilted about a month before the wedding. So heartbreaking yet better to break it off before the marriage.

I am very happy to report that my husband was there at the altar waiting for me :)

I did have a girlfriend in college who was very serious with her boyfriend and went to pick out engagement bands, where they were entered in a drawing for a free cruise to somewhere in the Carribean...and she broke up with him right before receiving the annoucement that they had WON the cruise.

Would love to read this book :)

I have a friend who years ago was courageous enough to break off an engagement very close to the wedding date. For that couple, it was the right thing because it was not God's will. They are now both happily married to other people with tons of kids.

Neither have I known anyone jilted at the altar, nor has it happened to me! I believe marriage is a big commitment and lots of work, but a great relationship is worth it.
It has to be between the two people and whether they want to work together on their relationship when one or the other has been hurt.
Thanks, Cindi

I have never been to a wedding that the bride or groom never showed up. However, do know of one that called off wedding and boy was everyone glad. Now, she is married, has kids and is so happy with a different guy. Better to make sure before the wedding.

Personally, I feel the obvious problems should be worked out before the marriage. From my own experiences I know this to be true. I've only read or heard about people being left at the alter. This is sad and hurtful; also humiliating. This subject I could probably say a lot about - and truth is something couples should really consider with each other before a decision to marry. Lori's book sounds thought provoking and one I'd like to read. Thanks for the giveaway and the opportunity to win. I hope I win.

Stuff like that just happens in books, right? Nope, never experienced either.

I have never been to a wedding where someone was left at the alter. However, my brother was engaged to a not very nice nor Godly woman for 10 months, and 3 months before the wedding she left and never even offered an explanation. He is happily married now to a wonderful woman though so God is good.

This has never happened to anyone I know, but I am glad that it happened to the person before they married because at least they wouldn't have to go trough a divorce later. Everything happens for a reason and the jilted is better off, because the jilter wasn't the right one for the person.
Thanks to God!

I actually do know someone who was left at the altar and it was very devestating to her. She described that after that, unfortunately, people who knew her would avoid her at the grocery store, pretend they didn't see her, etc and walk the other way. It was a really hard time for her. But fortunately fast forward to today and she has met her true prince charming and is doing great. I , too would hope that if it becomes clear that the relationship is not going to work out that it would be ended before they say 'I do".
Thanks!

Haven't been left at alter--have been married to my husband for 31 years. Don't know of anyone who was jilted but plenty who should have broken it off before it got to the wedding. Marriage is a serious committment.

please enter me in the contest.
