Here is the question: Is there any Native American blood in you... if yes, what tribe?
My answer: My grandmother was born on the Osage reservation in 1898 and at the time both Cherokee and Osage people lives in Hominy, Oklahoma where she was born. I've looked at the Dawes roll that the Cherokee tribe uses and there a ton of Peeks on the roll, which was my great-grandma's last name. So that's my story. You?

I was supposed to get this book to review but it hasn't arrived yet. Bottom line is some of Melody's books I enjoy and others....not so much. This does sound great, though.

Yes, but we don't know what kind. My mother's father's father was full blooded Indian, but he was killed when the kids were very young. My cousins tried to trace it back but could never find records.

I personally love all of Melody's books. Of course, I am an Oregonian, so maybe that is why. I also have Native American blood in me--Chippawa from Canada. My dad's maternal grandmother was full Chippawa. She married a white guy, who ended up being an alcoholic. She finally could not take it anymore. She went to our church's campmeeting in Michigan, farmed off all the kids with relatives and she went back up to the reservation in Canada. That is a sad story, but not unlike any others.
I have some Indian in me, but I can't remember, because it is so small! :)
BUT, I live not too far from Pendleton and get this- almost all the Christian books I want to read I get through inter library loans from Pendleton because of their amazing collection. Would LOVE to read this book, but if not, I bet the Pendleton library will get it. :D

know, there is not Native American

To the best of my knowledge I do not have any Native American blood but can't be positive since my great great grandfather was basically abandoned on a farm in the deep woods in New Hampshire. The family took in a young girl about to give birth. After the baby was born she left and the only information they had about her was her first name.
No Indian blood, although I had a great time getting caught up on our family tree while my Mom was in the US visiting for twelve days.

I don't think I have any Native American blood in me, but I'm not for certain. However, my father once was police chief of a local Native American reservation, if that counts! :)
