Now I'm giving away Jenna's Cowboy by Sharon Gillenwater

This story sounds awesome. I don't have the book, but I'd like to read it. This story is about a cowboy who was in the military and did two tours of duty. But they changed him. To enter this contest for a chance to win this book simply post a comment answering this question...

Has anyone you've known served in the military and gone off to war, and because of what they experienced came back a different person than they were when the left? If so, how did that effect you?

Best wishes! I'll pick a random winner next Sunday!

About the book:

When Jenna Callahan's father sent Nate Langley away years ago, she never expected to see him again. But now he's back in town, and their attraction is as strong as ever. Will Nate be able to heal from the horrors he witnessed during two tours of military duty and become the man he believes Jenna deserves?

My dad served in the Army but that was before I was born and I don't think it effected him to a great extent other than to teach him many life lessons.

My 19 year old cousin just went through Marine boot Camp this summer and will be graduation from his schooling in a few days. I can tell he's really matured.

He is expecting to be deployed within a few months so my prayers and concerns are great for him. I'd appreciate all the prayers possible for his safety.

Thanks for the chance to win this book!

I have known many people to fight in wars. I have family across the way now. It is not a good change. Not for them or the family. A part of them is almost lost when they return.

I'm intrigued how he only served 2 hours. I really would love to read this book.

The Army is a big part of my heritage. My dad was Army, I joined straight out of high school... I married a soldier. His dad fought in Korea... So, it's been a huge part of my life.

As far as your particular question, I guess you could say that my dad's war service changed him so much that he no longer wanted us. He came back and became isolated. He took his meals in his own space (having moved out of their bedroom). He never spent time with the family. A while later he announced he wanted a divorce and moved away to a new job he found for himself, along with a woman he found on the internet. The rest of us were shocked. We had tried our best to engage him, give him space... anything & everything. He no longer felt like one of us.

I have heard good things about this book, though.

Hello! Thanks for this great giveaway. How could anyone resist that cover? A cowboy with eyes as blue as Texas bluebonnets : )

Yes, there is a young man I know who is in our local National Guard. He has been sent overseas four times, and his young family has been through great hardship. I have known him since he was a little boy riding his big wheel. His son is now a young teen, and the family is very close-knit. The father is much quieter since his four tours of duty. One of his close buddies killed himself while they were stationed overseas. The family has faced great financial difficulties. The wife has tirelessly worked to bring recognition and assistance to all families just like theirs.

Both of my grandfathers and lots of my uncles served in wars back before I was born, but I don't know if/how they changed in any way. I would imagine that everyone changes in some way, shape, or form. The memories will most likely always be with them, reminding them of the good times, as well as the bad. It has to be hard to return to "everyday" life after experiencing something like that.

Thank you for offering a copy of Jenna's Cowboy...I LOVE the cover!

I admire our military men and women so much. Even if they make it through a war physically whole, many do not return spiritually whole. I would love to read a book that features a happy ending for a soldier with PTSD.

My husband is a former Marine but he never went into war but many of his friends did. War changes people who serve in the hard times. Please add my name, Jenna's Cowboy sounds really engaging. Thanks, Michelle!

My friend Nate was in the army - I don't remember him changing that much, but he is a little more negative about some things now, and definitely about the army. Thanks for the chance to win!

My dad served in the Army during the Vietnam War. I was just a baby so I have no idea if his service changed him. My husband served in Navy but not during wartime so he says if anything it helped him to settle down and become more responsible.

This book is on my wish list. I think it sounds great so please enter me. Thank you!

That sounds like a cool story, father sends hero away, he comes back and he and the heroine are still in love.

I know my Uncle served in Vietnam and it changed him forever. Always had a sorrow to him and over our family.
