About the book:
In Where Grace Abides, the compelling second book in the series, Hoff offers her readers an even closer look at the Amish community of Riverhaven and the people who live and love and work there. Secrets, treachery, and persecution are only a few of the challenges that test Rachel’s faith and her love for the forbidden “outsider,” while Gant’s own hopes and dreams are dealt a life–changing blow, rendering the vow he made to Rachel seemingly impossible to honor.
Many of the other characters first introduced in Rachel’s Secret now find their gentle, unassuming lives of faith jeopardized by a malicious outside influence. At the same time, those striving to help runaway slaves escape to freedom through the Underground Railroad face deception and the danger of discovery.
All the elements readers have come to expect from author BJ Hoff (romance, drama, great characters) join together in Where Grace Abides to fill the pages with a tender, endearing love story and a bold, inspiring journey of faith.
My thoughts:
I was going to read this but then realized I hadn't read the first book yet (which I have) so I decided to wait on a review. I hate to read books out of order. I know that BJ Hoff is an amazing author as I've read at least four of her books, maybe more. This is sure to be excellent, too.

I can't recall ever reading any Amish stories, and don't think there would be a reason not to. I am interested in the Amish, as I live near an Amish community.
Happy New Year!

I just started this year reading Amish fiction (mostly Christian) and the reason I like it because I get to learn about the Amish lifestyle, its very interesting!
as a child l visited the amish country almost every summer. l was always impressed with their way of life... l am sure l could dive right into a book about the amish and there ways.... throw my name in the hat ;) Percy
I love the way Amish fiction addresses heart issues without modern distractions. I become aware that everyone struggles with the same emotional and spiritual pain regardless of culture.
I would love to win this one!! I have read the first one in the series from my library and I really enjoyed that one:) Now I have to find out what happens. My library doesn't have the second one:( And I don't really have a favorite Amish author. I like Wanda Brunstetter and Beverly Lewis. I just ordered one by Jerry Eicher so that will be the first one by that author I will read. And I like reading about the different cultures. There are so many interesting things to learn. Please enter me in your giveaway:) Thanks!!

Beverly Lewis is enjoyed by both my teen daughter and myself which I love this sharing link we have. I enjoy BJ Hoff's books and am excited about this Amish one. The simple and wise matter-of-fact ways of looking at life is something I appreciate about the Amish themes.

I loved the American Anthem series, so B. J. Hoff is one of my favorite authors. I do read a good bit of Amish fiction, probably because of elements like humility, honor, obedience, respect for authority, simplicity, close community, and the way they take care of their elderly.
My favorite Amish writer is Dale Cramer, who just happens to go to my church. Levi's Will won the Christy Award a few years ago and I look forward to more Amish books by him.
Thank you for the chance to win a copy of Where Grace Abides.

Well, I do not love Amish Fiction, but I do love BJ Hoff's books!!! She is one of my favorite writers!
I do not like Amish fiction because probably I grew up around it, went to Amish school growing up and went to Amish church and I am always finding problems in the books or mistakes, or just plain old romantic ideals in them.....but still I read them when I am bored!! But, that said, I would love to read this one as BJ Hoff can make any subject good!
