To enter the contest to win a copy of this book simply post a comment about a time when you got into big trouble growing up. This should be fun. I will pick a winner next Sunday. So have fun with this one.
In all fairness, I'll also share my "biggie" from when I was in the first grade. We had a steep hill a few blocks from my house and I hadn't been riding my bike that long. Knowing this, my mother told me not to ride down that hill. So when I disobeyed I broke my thigh and ended up in the hospital in traction for six weeks, then had a cast on from hip to toe that stayed on all summer. The last day the public pool was open (my favorite place in the world) was the day my cast came off. Oh, the perils of disobedience. I learned, though. :)
About the Book:
PJ Sugar knows three things for sure:
1) After traveling the country for ten years hoping to shake free from the trail of disaster that's become her life, she needs a fresh start.
2) The last person she wants to see when she heads home for her sister's wedding is Boone-her former flame and the reason she left town.
3) Her best friend's husband absolutely did not commit the first murder Kellogg, Minnesota, has seen in more than a decade.
What PJ doesn't know is that when she starts digging for evidence, she'll uncover much more than she bargained for-a deadly conspiracy, a knack for investigation, and maybe, just maybe, that fresh start she's been longing for.

I know that this is going to be hard to believe but I really was a very good kid growing up and didn't normally get into trouble. The only time that I did get into trouble was when I decided to date a boy that was not my religion. I was raised a nice Jewish girl and was dating a Irish Catholic boy and talk about my parents getting upset.
Blessings,
Jo

Sounds like a great story!!
I remember getting into trouble once when I borrowed my mom's car. She specifically told me not to drive in all the big puddles...so what did I do? Drove in them anyways. Then the car stalled and I had to call my mom to pick me up. Needless to say, she wasn't too impressed!
I got into trouble when I got off the school bus in downtown Newnan instead of going to my grandmother's house. I wanted to buy a hat for my sister. She had admired it and I saved my $$ to buy it for her. I bought the hat and walked to my grandmother's - only about 4 blocks from downtown and those were the days when it was safer to be on the streets - but not necessarily for a 10 year old girl. When my dad came to pick me up - I knew I was in DEEP trouble. Was I ever! It hurt to sit down for about a week after that. I learned my lesson well!
Hmmm, only one time? My brother and I were hiding in ditches across the road from each other. As we pelted each other with rocks, a car drove by... we busted the back window. Whew, did we get it for that!

I am like Jo. I was a good kid growing up. I hated the thought of getting in trouble so I avoided it at all cost. I'm still that way! However, in Waukegan Illionis there was a street name Genesee St. where young folks with cool cars liked to cruz. My friend Penny & I had been cruzing and had parked by the curb for a time. A police came up to the car about 10:50 pm and said to lock up the car he was taking us downtown for breaking curfew (which was at 11:00 pm). Penny & I were put in the back of the patrol car (along with 5 other cars of kids who had to follow us) and taken to the station. Penny's mom came to bail us out. Both of us were cleared in court of the charges. But one thing was for certain...I knew that was a place I NEVER wanted to go again.
Thanks for entering me in the drawing.

My little brother and I were supposed to bring lunch to my dad and other two brothers (we lived on the farm). We decided to walk through the flax field, as it was shorter. WRONG! We flattened the flax where we walked, so we couldn't lie about it. We lost our allowance that week--.25 at the time. It was a big deal, as we couldn't buy our pop and ice cream sandwich in town that week. Learned our lesson!

Thank you for the entry.
When I was about 10, my family came from England for a visit. They brought with them their two younger children. My sister, myself and the two boys decided we were going to look up bad words in the dictionary. (Forgot to mention my sister and one boy were eldest.) When we were doing this my father entered the room. Of course it was my turn, so I was unfortunate to get thr brunt of it. My father grounded me. However, when I got grounded, it was for the remainder of the summer. I bet it was the worst summer of my childhood. Now with 2 teens of my own, I get it.

I got in huge trouble when I was little because my mom went inside to use the bathroom and she told me to stay right in front of the house. Well, I went over to a friends house and mom was scared to death! I knew better. When you're a kid you don't realize how what you do in the name of fun is a bad idea.

haha I like the stories! I was a pretty good kid too. But one time a babysitter kept trying to make me do yardwork (my dad told him we needed to). so I locked myself in the bathroom and then escaped out the window. haha I got it for that!

I don't think I usually got caught at home... but one time at high school I did get called to the office. We wore uniforms so once in a while we would have casual day.... well I decided to go casual by wearing my roller skates. My homeroom teacher and my 1st period teacher said nothing... but the office didn't much like the idea so I had to report and hand in my skates until the end of the day :(
Haha... :)
When I got into trouble? One day I was supposed to visit a friend after school and my mom changed her mind. The problem was she changed her mind several times and I couldn't remember if the final answer was "No" or not. lol Anyways, my lil' sister and I rode the bus to our friends home and hung out. We ate supper with them too. Later that night, the phone rang and it was my mom. She has been trying to find us all day. I can't remember if we got a spanking or not. lol

I was basically a pretty good kid. However, I hated cleaning my room. My messy room used to drive my mom nuts. I remember one time I was not allowed to come out of my room until it was completely clean. Needless to say, I was in my room all day and night because It was such a mess it took me that long to clean it. I tried to keep it cleaner after that insident.

Uh, oh, Michelle, you're not going to believe this! When I was seven, I was crossing through the junior high school athletic fields (which I was forbidden to do), and I stopped to climb a tree (second thing I was forbidden to do). My best friend was with me, but she stayed at the foot of the tree, wringing her hands at my disobedience. About 25 feet up, I decided to leap from one branch to another, which I did SUCCESSFULLY... except that the branch broke. On the way down, I hit a tether-ball poll and bent it. When I hit the ground, I broke my thigh (sound familiar?), my nose and my left index finger. I also spent six weeks in traction, three months in a very heavy body cast, and six more weeks on crutches. Six months out of my seven year old year. Disobedience does come at a dear price, doesn't it? (PS, I promise you that this is true, and not just a copy of your own mishap!)
A couple years ago, I was playing soccer in the house even thought my parents told me not too. I kicked the ball and it accidentally hit the giant mirror that was laying against the cabinet and it started to sway a little. Next thing I no it comes crashing down and there are are hundreds of piece of glass on the floor. My parents go really mad at me and grounded me for 3 weeks. I haven't played soccer in the house since.

It seems that I was in trouble a lot!
I enjoyed playing pranks on people and they weren't always very nice.
One time I was playing at a friend's house out in her front yard. There was a sidewalk on the edge of her yard and a woman walked by; stopped,
and asked if we had seen a $10.00
bill that she had lost. Well, I hadn't, but said that I did. I had her, my friend and me looking on the sidewalk, in the street and under the bushes! I felt really bad about this lie later that day!

I ran away from home when I was 13 or 14. My mom was out of state for work and my step dad was brought to the police station because I said he threw my food at me and told me to get out of the restaurant. I'm sure at the time it was all very real to me, but my mom and step dad were not impressed. To say that my dad didn't visit a Wendy's for a long time is putting it mildly. I stayed at my friend's for a few days I think until my mom got home. Talk about tension.
sigh,
Mimi...a mom hoping her kids will never do what I've done!
I would go over to my friends house so we could play or swim or bike ride. But first we would watch "The Young and the Restless" which was not allowed in my house at all. Eventually my mom caught on that it was always at the same time and we always came back after it was over.

Ha! Love that you shared yours! :-) But yow, that must've been painful.
I was a perfect child, never disobeyed. ;-) Whoops, not true! Why are the most memorable disobedient moments here when we did something our parents specifically said NOT to do? lol I think I got in the most trouble growing up by arguing with my sister. My mom used to say, "Do you guys just HATE each other?". Well we didn't, and don't, at all. :-) But you know sometimes siblings can be the hardest to get along with because you love them so much! Anyway, later I made friends with a girl who used to have physical fights with her sister (cat fights?) and that never happened with us, so I feel better, lol.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this book, Michelle!

I'm sure there were others, but rolling a teacher's house is the first thing that pops to mind. It was SO much fun - until my parents found out.
Thanks for the chance to win this book, Michelle.

I was one of those very sensitive children who never got into serious trouble. My parents could send a look my way and that would be all it took to stop me in my tracks. The worst punishment ever meted out to me was when my parents had told me not to ride my bike on anyone else's driveways. One day my friend was over and she was ready to go home but she didn't want to walk down three houses to get there: she wanted me to give her a ride on my bike. See where this is going? I delivered her right up to her front door and received a very sound spanking when I got home and wasn't allowed to play with her for some lengthy period of time (a month, maybe?). She didn't know that asking me would get me into trouble and I figured it would be okay since she asked me to do it... but there was no bending the rules.
Thanks for the chance to win!

Oh I can remember when I had a birthday party and my dear mama said I could have a party and invite a few kids! Wait! A few kids?? How many are a few kids? Oh gotcha! So, I merrily went on my way inviting my friends and I invited the ones I intended to, but, some of the less fortunate kids were coming up and saying, "You gonna have a party at ur house?" Well......what could I do? I invited them too! When I was done my mom came in from working at a shoe factory all day and was a bit dismayed to see I had invited 36 kids to my party and had to get one of my friends to run to the little store a couple blocks and get more FOOD! She wasn't too happy with me. I was only about 10 or 11 yrs old.I go #'s after that! Well I didn't know what a few were.......LOL Please enter me in the contest. Thanks!
One time I and some cousins were at my grandma's and we were out by the road throwing grass at cars... Shame on us. *grins* One guy in particular was NOT happy. He went up to the house and yelled at my grandma and us. Grandma was more upset at the man, but, boy, I never did that again! LOL
My cousins and I only lived 3 houses apart, so we were ALWAYS at each others houses. When I was old enough to tell time, my Mom got me a watch so I would know what time to come back home. Well, my cousins and I came up with the bright idea of running my watch back by 20-30 minutes, so I could stay longer ~ needless to say, I was in a LOT of trouble when I came home LATE!! *grin*
Thank you for a chance to win Susan's newest release! I love her books! :)

I didn't get into a lot of trouble growing up. But I do remember always getting grounded for talking back to my mother. My parents HATED that! And now I hate it with my own daughter!
When I was younger, I got caught stealing Coke bottles from the back of a little luncheonette. This were the ones that you could a deposit on for returning. Needless to say, my parents weren't too happy with me.

I didn't get into a lot of trouble either growing up - the only time I ever remember my dad spanking me is when I was around 7 and threw a fork at my little sister and it stabbed her leg.
