Win How to Become a Bible Character by Timothy Fish

To enter the contest merely post a comment about why this book intrigues you. I'll choose a winner on Sunday. Don't forget to leave me a way to contact you if you win!

About the book:

Associate pastor and youth minister Wayne Hiller is ready to make an impression on a new church, but he soon finds that there is a young man in the youth group who is ready to make a mark of his own. Neal Watts is above average when it comes to teenagers. He is the most popular kid in school, he is committed to the Lord and he is full of compassion for other, but he has a desire for the impossible. He has a desire to become a Bible character. At first, Wayne thinks this desire is misguided, but mostly harmless. When Wayne sees the lengths to which Neal will go to accomplish his goal, he questions just how harmless it really is. This is a book about the desire to accomplish the impossible and about what to do when it seems that God is ignoring our prayers. It goes to the very heart of Christianity and covers the topic of friends reaching friends for the Lord. Come explore a place where you can learn How to Become a Bible Character.

This book intrigues me because I want to live a life that glorifies God and inspires others, like the characters of the Bible have inspired and encouraged me.

Hmm, I'm not sure I'd want to be a Bible character. In almost all cases, your flaws and mistakes would be documented for everyone to read for many generations. Yes, I'd want to be sure that the ending was inspirational, but I'm not sure I want that much attention on all my weaknesses. And not all Bible characters had a positive, inspirational life. I'd like to see how Timothy (and Wayne!) handle the topic.

Thanks for sharing so many wonderful books with us.

what intrigues me about the book is that it looks like it would be a good one for teenagers to read and I have two of them in my house. Plus others at church we can put the book in the church library when we're finished.
