What I'm reading this first full week of February 2007...

I started reading Leaving the Saints (non-fiction) by Martha Beck today. Since my husband is an ex-Mormon I thought it would be interesting. My husband laughed when I read some chapters out loud to him while we were driving to Tucson. He said much of what Beck wrote was dead-on true. Anyway, I finally got the book because Kristin Billerbeck always says she loves the story. I also started reading Blessed are the Uncool - Living Authentically in a World of Show (another non-fiction title) by Paul Grant. So far this is fabulous and very interesting, just like Beck's book. Both have different intents and styles, but are effective nevertheless. I began The Reliance by M. L. Tyndall. Remember folks, this is the other book I'm doing a giveaway on. Any post mentioning this book (including this one) will be entered into a drawing. Just tell me you want to win the book. Easy as pie. I began The Longing Season by Christine Shaub last night as well. I just love well-written historicals. Right now I'm immersed in them. That said I think I'll start Remember to Forget by Deb Raney soon. That's a contemporary. Don't want to mix up my story content by reading too many similar genres at once!

Okay, so I haven't read a good pirate book in years. I have been reading too many 'how-to" books. But, Leaving the Saints sounds fascinating. Lots of my step-family are Mormon so it draws me too.
I'd love to be entered into your drawing and I am so glad you mentioned the other book.

Hi, Michelle,

I would love to win The Reliance. I love pirate stories. Thanks for the chance. And tell hubby and boys hello for me. Love that rodeo photo, too. *sigh* I miss that place and you and all.

Hugs,
Margo
