Now I'm giving away Love Finds You in Homestead, Iowa by Melanie Dobson!

To enter your name for a chance to win this book simply post a comment that answers this question... What do you think about giving up the dream of being with the one person you've come to love in order to live in the same community with them? Would you be able to do it? I'll pick a winner with the Randomizer program next Sunday.

About the book:

Times are hard in 1894. Desperate for work, former banker Jacob Hirsch rides the rails west from Chicago with his four-year-old daughter, Cassie. When a life-threatening illness strands the pair in Homestead, Iowa, the local Amana villagers welcome the father and daughter into their peaceful society. Liesel, a young Amana woman, nurses Cassie back to health, and the Homestead elders offer Jacob work. But Jacobs growing interest in Liesel complicates his position in the Amanas. Will he fight to stay in the only place that feels like home, even if it means giving up the woman he loves? Or will Liesel leave her beloved community to face the outside world with Jacob and Cassie at her side?

My thoughts:

I'll be reading this book soon for a blog tour. I love Melanie Dobson's work. This story sounds right up my alley, too!

I don't really understand the question. She'd give up loving them to live in the same area?

Would you be able to do it?

If I am getting the question right? No, I couldn't do it.

I think if I really loved someone, I could give up my dream to be with him. The Bible does say to be a helpmate to the husband. And if his motive was pure and from the Lord, plus I felt led, then yes I could. I don't think it would be easy, but still possible.

Looks great- please enter! :)

Definitely a tough question! If there was any chance of a future, I suppose I'd stay. If not, I'd probably leave and start over somewhere else.

After I read the sonopsis of this book, I think I understand that she has been taking care of this little girl and when they find out the father of the little girl has fallen for the lady taking care of her the comunnity wants him to call it quits. If that is the case, why do they have the right to ask him to do that but I think I would move her and the little girl to another community and live with him and his daughter. lol I'm stubborn.

Having deeply loved I would definitely give up fulfillment of other dreams or leave a familiar community.

I doubt that I would be able to see him everyday (possibly with someone else) and not be with him. I doubt I'd be strong enough.

Based on the book's description, I would imagine that church rules enter into this situation. I guess I would try to submit and see how God worked.

I'd love to read Melanie's book and appreciate the chance to win a copy.

Jacob definitely has a difficult decision to make! His little girl
have found a mother figure in
Liesel and Liesel is engaged!
If I were Jacob, I would stay
there and hope she could marry
him! Otherwise, if Liesel chose
to, Jacob, Cassie and she should
leave the Amana Community!
Many thanks, Cindi

I don't understand the question. I would give up living in my community to be with someone I love but I don't think that was the question. For some reason, I don't get the question, sorry.
On the other hand - I really am loving the Love Finds You books.

I know I could do it, if you love someone enough to give them up then that really is love. And if you live in the same community then so be it, you can't just up and move, just try not to be alone with that person and sometimes it helps just to be able to see them from afar and know they are ok.

I could do yes

Please enter me for the book

I follow you everywhere
