Now I'm giving away a copy of Blaggard's Moon by George Bryan Polivka

To enter your name in the contest to win this book, post a comment telling me why you like pirate stories and why you'd like to win this book. I will draw a winner on Sunday, May 3rd. Open to US and Canadian residents only.

About the book:

From the author of highly praised Trophy Chase Trilogy comes this exciting swashbuckling tale of a pirate sentenced to die for the crime of mutiny.

As he awaits his fate, this pirate (none other than the delightful Smith Delaney from the Trophy Chase Trilogy) ponders his life and the events that have brought him to this fate.

In the process of remembering, and in grappling with mercy and justice as they have been played out in his life, a tale is spun, a tale of true hearts wronged, noble love gone awry, dark deeds done for the sake of gold, and sacrifices made for love. In the end, our pirate will come face–to–face with himself, with his own death, and with a God who promises grace where none is deserved.

Every since the Pirates of the Caribbean movies came out, I love reading pirate stories (and it has absolutely nothing to do with Johnny Depp....Orlando Bloom maybe) I need to win this book b/c my name is in it and I dont' have a copy yet!!!

I'd have to agree with Deborah, Pirates are HOT! I like to read about life on the high seas. The first book I ever read was True Confession of Charlotte Doyle... I dunno, I just hear them :o)

Like Deborah, it was Pirates of the Caribbean that grabbed my attention. I hadn't been that interested prior to that movie. I remember watching "Mutiny on the Bounty" and other old films, but I had trouble sitting still for the entire film. When Pirates came out, my son told me I should watch it. He said it wasn't like other movies and I'd enjoy it. He was right. I recently read "Red Siren" by M.L. Tyndall and it turned out to be one of the best books I've read in a long time. So, I'd love to win a copy of "Blaggard's Moon and see how George Bryan Polivka tells his swashbuckling tale!

I have a 17yo that enjoys pirate stories (it's that whole Johnny Depp thing). She graduates in a few weeks and I know she would enjoy a new book to read.

I've read part of George's 1st book in the series, but haven't had the chance to finish it because of all my books for review. I really enjoyed the world George creates. I'd love to win this book because it might be the catalyst I need to finish all the books. :)

My love of pirates came very young, when I read Treasure Island as a kid. I loved reading the adventure in it, and also the dark side of pirating. Pirates of the Caribbean pales in comparison to real pirate stories such as Treasure Island.
Thank you for the entry.

What an intriguing plot in regards to today's actual pirates off Somalia. Does anyone witness to them in anyway to end their ways? I myself find myself getting callous in 'taking them out.' Yikes! Would love to read this one.

I love pirate stories probably mostly because I had a childhood fascination with them. But, to me pirate stories are also synonymous with treasure and the first Christian book I ever wrote was about a treasure hunt. Good memories!

I have loved pirates since Linda Chaikin's Buccaneers series and MaryLu Tyndall's Legacy of the King's Pirates series. I suppose it's the facination with the "bad boy" persona that draws me in. It's a place that in reality I wouldn't want to be but in the pages of a book it's a wonderful escape.

I love the cover of the Blaggard's Moon and would love to win it to give it a try.

Thanks,
Sherry K

I love the allure of the pirate tales of old... Like others that have left comments, I really enjoyed the first movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. I also love M.L. Tyndall's pirate books! Not long ago, I read a book that belongs to my grandmother called Ghost Stories and Legends of Prince Edward Island. It was so intriguing! I'd really appreciate a chance to win this book!

Woops, forgot to finish...

I love pirate stories because I think they are perfect ways to tell of God's love. Pirates were known for their evil. Yet, reading about pirates that have found Christ speaks so strongly of the love of God. It tells us that no matter where we come from or what we've done, it does not change how he feels about us.

Plus, there's loads of adventure when pirates are involved. What more could you ask for? :)

I wasn't into pirates at all until the POTC movies came out, and only moderately interested then. But after reading M.L. Tyndall's I really got interested!
