My YA novel, It's Not About Me, won't be in stores until Sept. 1, 2008. So, if you want an advance copy of the actual book, post a comment and tell me why you want to win it. The people with the most interesting answers will have their names entered into the hat (You MUST leave a way for me to contact you if you win.) If your post is boring like, "This book sounds great! Enter me!" it won't make the cut. So think about your post before you enter. Flatter me, but don't suck up. Seriously, what have you heard about it and what interests you about the storyline? That's what I'm looking for. This contest will run for an entire week.
For those of you who need a bit of extra help deciding what you want to say... scroll down to the bottom of this page and play the video trailer about the book. It might inspire you to be more creative.
Book Description
Two brothers...one choice.
When a young woman's life is shattered by a brutal attack, she is torn between two brothers, both of whom claim to love her. She is attracted to both, but which one does she love? How can she choose when her decision may cause a permanent rift between them? And more important, will she give her heart to the One who will sustain her even when human love fails?
Here is another description:
Annie has it all. She's attractive, graduated with honors, was accepted at the college of her choice, has supportive parents, good friends, and a steady boyfriend who loves her. One night when an unexpected visitor appears, Annie's safe world is destroyed. As she tries to recover the pieces of her broken life, a war ensues between two brothers who both claim to have her best interests at heart. But who will Annie choose? Or will she decide to turn her life in a different direction?

I'm always on the hunt for YA fiction, particularly Christian fiction, for my 13 yo.
And like it or not--here comes the suck up!--I want to read it because it's your debut. I love reading debut novels and I really enjoy them when they are from someone I've encountered on this writing journey. It inspires me.
BTW, I'll be in touch re: a blog feature for September.
Sounds extremely interesting, Michelle! Enter me!
oh I want to win! I have been reading your blog forever (as you know) and I have just been waiting for a chance to win YOUR book!! I have to WIN it because my dear husband has forbidden (well, asked me nicely anyway) me to buy anymore books until my ENTIRE to be read pile is done... I don't know if I can do it... I'm a little addicted to books! And if I win I will totally do a review for you and talk you up and all that good stuff. I am already linked to you on my sidebar of course.
Plus I have heard so much about your journey with this book that I would just like to actually READ it!
This novel presents a realistic and serious dilemma. With vivid characters and relationships that are explored fully it interests me greatly. I enjoy books with depth and meaning. Thanks for this giveaway.

My niece is at the appropriate age for your YA book. She will be experiencing more of life; including boys! I know she would love her book. Please enter us in your drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

The choices we make affect our very lives. It sounds as if Annie will be torn between good and evil; I know many women who choose evil and lived to regret it.
I have three teenage granddaughters who live within three miles of me (I have another two teenage granddaughters who live farther away) and I would read your book and then loan it to each one of the five granddaughters in the hopes that it would help them make wiser choices.

l sooo want to read this book!! and know its going to be a great read too! and to have it signed to boot, oh boy!!! Percy
What intrigues me most is Anne has a choice between two boys but they are brothers. Now how will she choose that is what I'd like to know. Sometimes choices aren't as they are cut out to be.
Who wouldn't want to win this book!! I loved your interview with Nora!

Michelle,
I not only want to read your book… I NEED to read YOUR book. I want to interview you, oh great one (oops, I forgot…no sucking up) I also want to read your book… so you will read mine! :)
Seriously now, the reason I would like to read your story is because I have read the first chapter-loved it-and would really like to read the rest.
Well, I did it! I plan on spending this weeks allowance anyway!
All silliness aside...I truly am saying my prayers for you,Michelle.
God bless,
And good luck with "it’s NOT about ME"
Congrats on your book releasing in Sept. I've found so many new exciting authors to enjoy and expect that you will join that list of suthors to watch. I enjoy following your reviews and giveaways. This book sounds intriguing and I'd like to read the rest of Annie's journey both in her choices regarding the brothers and regarding matters of faith. I love stories that give a glimpse into how people grow through their relationships both with humans and with the Lord.
Thanks for doing this giveaway.

I'd love to find out if this book is really "edgy". I have no doubt it'll be inspirational. The dynamics between the brothers and one girl seem like a tough topic to cover. One that teen girls would be interested in. I'd also like to win it for my daughter, Amber, who hasn't received a book from an author, let alone a teen author when my other 3 kids have. I know she'd enjoy this book and would hope they'd do it for their book club. That would mean another 3 books being purchased if they chose it.
Blessings on your release!

I've seen the trailer before, but again I love it. I would really like to win a copy so I can of course first read and review it myself, but also to pass along to my best friend's teen daughter who has recently made some bad choices that are affecting her life already. I know she likes to read, and I think this would be the perfect book for her.
