This book has gotten excellent reviews. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my to read list. Looking forward to it!

Sounds fascinating! The missions work I've always wanted to do is to help at a pregnancy counselling centre. However, I'm afraid of being too "black and white" that I'd scare the woman away, rather than help her. I admire those who help women faced with tough choices.
I have never gone on a missions trip, but the older I get (I'm 56), the more I would like to. I have a desire to work with the homeless, with children and with others who are disadvantaged. As a special education teacher I do get to do some of that, but I would like to reach out in a more spiritual and humanitarian way by going on a missions trip.
Sounds interesting! I like her other books! I have only gone on a trip to Bolivia , which was not really a mission trip, but we did do some preaching to shoe shine boys and give food to beggars.

Memories of childhood ideas about being a missionary when I grew up. Those ideas didn't go anywhere then. When I was about 60, I decided to become a minister. I went through the pre-studies and worked with another woman minister in my denomination on the studies. I neared the point when I would be entering a class at Perkins and I ended up in the hospital instead, critically ill and almost died. To say the least - my plans to become a minister were never to be. I do believe we can be a ministry to others and serve in missions from our own church. I'm a retired church music director and am going into Lay ministry soon. I want to write for the glory of God and spread he news everywhere. Thanks for the question. I wasn't very succinct. I would like to win this fascinating book. Thanks for the giveaway and for the chance to win. I hope I win!

I help my church's bus ministy that picks up kids at motels and trailer parks and brings them to church, I volunter at Young America, I'm starting a Bible study for kids on my street, I go on World Changers every summer, and I volunteer at a local public middle school. I have not had any direct work in the mission field, however, I have helped in a variety of ways at church indirectly. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go to China and work in the orphanage and take care of the babies. The Philip Hayden Foundation, or Maria's Big House of Hope (built in honor of Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter who died in a tragic accident) are 2 places that are Christian organizations where the word of God can be shared. Now that would be a perfect combination!
