Inspy E-book reader challenge! Join me on this quest!

Inspirational E-book Challenge
(originated with Joy Tasmin David's blog so you sign up there)

Photobucket

Every time I notice a free inspirational e-book offered at Amazon, I download it to my new Kindle. I love this thing! I have even bought some inexpensive e-books lately, many of which are usually cheaper in e-book format than in paperback. I was waiting for a Kindle and faithfully downloading books to my Kindle app on my PC waiting for that Kindle that would eventually come (I hoped by Christmas.) So when the gift arrived, I already had almost 100 e-books ready to go. Some of the books are e-book version of paperbacks that I have on my shelves, so now I can pass some of those paperbacks on and read the same books in a way that takes up no space in my house! Can we say no more bookshelves bowing from the weight of too many books? Hallelujah!

Between now and the end of the year, I plan to whittle down my e-stack of inspy novels. I plan to read at least six e-books in the next six months, starting today. Three of the books I am going to read will be available ONLY in e-book format. (I've already read three e-books this year that are only found in e-book format and they are Woman of Honor by Nicole Zoltack, No Other by Shawna K. Williams, and Queen of Hearts by K. Dawn Byrd. All were excellent historical fiction novels.) I read all three books before I got my Kindle so it's not impossible, I promise! Care to join the challenge?

Maybe you've never tried an e-book. Well sweetie, it's time to jump on the technology bandwagon and get those free Kindle and Barnes and Noble e-reader applications for your computer while you are waiting on that wish-list e-reader you have been hoping to get for Christmas. Remember, you don't need to own an actual e-reader to participate, though now most phones have applications for these programs, too. Amazon offers a free Kindle download for your other devices (click HERE for the link.)

To participate in this challenge:

1. Grab a challenge button and post it in a blog entry or your sidebar.

2. Blog about this challenge, then link your blog entry or challenge page to the Linky Tool on the official posting site so we can hop over to follow your progress.

3. Start reading your six (or more) inspirational e-books. They don't have to be romance. But it would make smile if you chose at least one inspy romance for the challenge, with bonus points if it's edgy (and if it's one of my books I'll be especially thrilled, hehehehe!)

4. In the comment section of this official posting site, come back and tell them which books you've completed. And if you review them in your blog, leave links so people can follow. To be eligible for the prizes from Edgy Inspirational Romance blog, make sure to update your original post when you've finished the challenge.

5. Joy Tasmin David will have blog award buttons available for everyone who completes the challenge. One person from the Linky Tool who finishes 6 e-books will also win a $10 Amazon gift card. The winner will be chosen 12/31/10.

Now hop to it! Let's get reading!

Oooh, I like the twists you're putting on the challenge, to choose three that are only available in ebook format. :)

But you read so fast, I bet you'll have this task finished in a couple of days. LOL.

What many people don't realize is that the Kindle books they download now with the free Kindle app, can be downloaded to their Kindle, when they buy one at a later date, at no extrea charge. Many people are under the impression that when they buy an ebook they're paying for a one time download, and that's not the case. The order is stored in your order history, so that if your device breaks, or you purchase a second device, like I'm considering an iPhone, the book can be downloaded to it.
