New cover (rough draft) for my July 2010 release Never Without Hope

The font style and color may change as well as the design, but the center picture will not change. So what do you think about this potential cover?

About the book:

Hope believes she is above sexual temptation; that she would never break that commandment like her husband's previous wives had done. After all, she is a good Christian and a loving mother. She has no reason to stray . . . until her husband starts ignoring her needs and things begin to look hopeless. Though she clearly communicates her pain to her husband, he refuses to get help. She starts to wonder…Will she never have sex with her husband again? She soon learns that she, too, is capable of such betrayal when she succumbs to the unthinkable.

But things that first seemed sweet and reasonable given her painful situation soon produce a bitter taste when combined with the overwhelming guilt. No substitute will ever replace her love and desire for her husband. If only he would touch her like he used to. If only they could make love again. She misses him so much and wants to tell him the truth hoping it will propel him to do something to fix their problem, but she fears his rejection. Yet, she can't continue living such a hypocritical life. She knows it's wrong even though she continues to crave physical intimacy. Steeped in the quagmire of adultery, Hope must find her way back to solid ground to save her marriage. But will she lose everyone she loves in the process?

Wow, now this sounds edgy and a topic that isn't traditionally covered in Christian fiction. LOVE the cover! Man, you've had an amazing last couple years with your writing career!!

When it's available I hope you guys will help me spread the word. I need to get this in people's hands. Please consider supporting a starving artist (me) and get the book. It's the kind you can read more than once even if you are not a teenager. Seriously.

It's a fabulous book. I'm so glad it's finally being published. I love the bed, not crazy about that border. No matter the cover, it's a breakout novel!

I'm with Rhonda. I love the picture, but I'm not too sure about the border. It seems a little large and looks like it cuts off the picture instead of becoming a part of the cover. I'm not a graphic artist though.

The story sounds really good (and relevant). I can't wait to read it. I was a little confused when you said that it was the kind of thing we could read more than once even if we weren't a teenager. A wife & mother of a husband who has had previous wives ... that doesn't seem like your target audience would be teens.

Either way, I can't wait for July.

Lee and Rhonda,

It looked too plain without the border but I actually wanted it closer to the picture or at the top and bottom. Which do you think would look better? I want to change the font, too.

As far as reading it more than once. I meant that usually teens are the only people who read a book more than once. Several people have read this more than once who are not teens. I would not recommend it for teens, however, I've had a few teens read it because they wanted to (19 year olds) and they said they got a lot out of it even though it wasn't anything they'd experienced. They said anyone can benefit from reading a book about the trappings of sin and the struggles faced. Make sense now?
