Review of books by my son, a high school student and big Dekker fan:
Jonis, Silve, Darsal return to their world after their journey through the histories. They find out everything is different from when they left. Years have lapsed and the Horde has taken over Middle Forest. All remaining lakes have turned blood red following the Drowning.
These two books are fascinating allegories of the redemption story but the tale is told in Dekker's fantastical style of writing. The stories are page-turning and draw you into another world. Shaeda was a strange character who drove the story and represented temptation to the characters who returned. This entire series really makes you think. People who love fantasy will be drawn to these books. Christians who love to read will be blessed by the message embedded in the story. These two book wrap up the series and are satisfying reads.
