Things are starting to look up...I'm back to reading!

No, my difficult social work cases have not necessarily improved, though some solutions are starting to come to the forefront. YES! (Didn't anyone tell these folks to NOT have problems around the holidays? Sheesh. LOL!) The good news is I have had a chance (finally) to catch up on my e-mail. Better yet, I'm reading again! Yipee! It's one of my favorite things to do. Oh, and no new rejections. That's a plus. Of course, that could mean that my stuff is lost in someone's stack or hasn't even been looked at yet... Aw, shucks. Can't dwell on that or my mood will start to dip again. However, the Lord knows what I can handle, and maybe I'm too busy now so He's sparing me. Did I mention two of my friends from church were just diagnosed with inoperable cancer? It just came on suddenly. One of them is SO young and has twelve-year-old twins.

Anyhoo...back to what I'm reading. I am still checking out Like Sheep Gone Astray by Leslie Sherrod. It's getting really good. I'm starting to put a dent in in the sucker again. Actually, let me clarify. It was always interesting. I just had a big interruption there. I'm also LOVING Death, Deceipt, and some Smooth Jazz by Claudia Mair Burney. Man, that puppy really sizzles. And the humor is AMAZING! Girlfriend has some major talent in the humor department. A must-read, IMHO. Finally, I'm reading The Reluctant Burglar by Jill Elizabeth Nelson. It's also good. I'm just in a sistah-lit kind of mood. That said, I'm hooking up with Tangerine by sistah Marilynn Griffith next. For me to be concurrently reading only three books at once is...shocking! That said, I must crack open a fourth to feel normal again! :)

And I'm still not connected to your email list, but oh well, I have you in my favorites, so I'll just keep checking it every few days.

So glad to hear that things are looking up for you, Michelle, and that you're back to reading again. That's such terrible news about your friends, though. How are each of them holding up?

I am finally starting to read the whole Mitford series. I must be one of the last living souls who hasn't read the books. I'm enjoying "At Home in Mitford", first in the series. Can't believe it's taken me so long to get started on them.

Christmas is in the air. I think I'll wrap presents tonight!

Blessings,
Shar
