New giveaway! I'm giving away an Amish fiction title! Enter to win Secrets of Harmony Grove by Mindy Starns Clark!

Attention all Amish romance and mystery lovers! Here is a story that includes both. To enter for a chance to win you need to comment on this post and leave me a way to contact you. Here is the question... As the number of Amish fiction titles continues to grow, should Amish fiction now have a subgenre so you know what else the novel is about? Example, Amish Romance, Amish Mystery, Amish Suspense? Or should it stay simply Amish fiction? What are your thoughts on this? One last thing... if you tweet (or retweet) about this contest with a link to this blog, I'll enter your name twice. Have a great week!

Secrets of Harmony Grove

My thoughts:

I don't have this book but I loved the first one in this series. Mindy has created a unique product with her Amish romance and suspense all packed in one novel that keeps you reading. At least that is what she did with Shadows of Lancaster County.

I also forgot that I enjoy all types of Amish Fiction, there were a few that were definitely not Christian, which I prefer!

  8. Mindy has written many books that I've heard about, but have not had the chance to read any of them. She has a great creative reputation as an Amish writer and I enjoy Amish stories. Yes, I think there should be a subgenre. I feel it would be a step forward for the authors and the readers of Amish writings. Thank you for this giveaway, it sounds super good. Thank you also for the chance to win it. I hope I win.

  13. I'm not sure. I pretty much read straight Amish fiction when I do and often times books are pretty specific due to title, cover or back cover. It would depend on how wide the genre continues to grow. :)

I am not on twitter, but I did post this to my Facebook wall. Thanks!

l think it would be a great idea to give them subgenres!! that way you can choose what type of story line you like best. hope my name gets pulled, l havent won in ages... priscillajdm at hotmail dot com

  15. I think that if it says Amish fiction than it wouldn't have a mystery in it. If it's suspense I think it should say. When I see that a book is called Women's Fiction I then know that it's not going to be primarily a romance. The woman is probably already married.

  16. I pretty much read any form of Amish fiction, whether it leans toward romance, mystery, etc. Since so many books are available now with several Amish fiction authors, I know whose style I like to read more as opposed to what subgenre.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mindy's other Amish book, and this one has been on my wish list for ages! Please sign me up! :o)

  21. Yes, I think it would be very helpful to have sub genres under Amish fiction. Yesterday, I read about Amish mysteries and the author suggested that Amish suspense would probably attract a different kind of read than someone who likes to read Amish romances.

I don't usually read Amish fiction but I do like Mindy Starns Clark's books. Having subgenres of Amish fiction seems to make sense since there are so many Christian fiction books about the Amish. Dare I say maybe it's being overdone?
Anyway, since this one is by Mindy, I'd love to win it.
    Thanks.

  24. If I were to read Amish fiction, it would be helpful to know if the book is suspense or mystery or just plain Amish fiction.

Personally I prefer books like this where the main character is "English" and just has Amish friends or relatives.

  25. I think the subgenre is a great idea! Although that too can be missleading, and might make you think the subgenre is the point of the book. I don't know. I think it would be a good addition, though. :)

Please enter me! I have this author's books on my TBR list. :)
