Love Amish Fiction? Now I'm giving away The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher!

To enter your name for a chance to win this "bonnet" book provided by Revell Publishing House, simply post a comment about why you'd like to read this book. Also, to make the contest more fun, post a comment about whether or not you like storylines about an Englisher (non-Amish) character dating or marrying an Amish character. I have not read this book nor do I own a copy so I can't say what I think about this new author. Best wishes and have fun posting! I will select a winner next Sunday.

About the book:

With a vibrant, fresh style Suzanne Woods Fisher brings readers into the world of a young Amish woman torn between following the man she loves--or joining the community of faith that sustains her, even as she questions some of the decisions of her elders. Her choice begins a torrent of change for her and her family, including a marriage of convenience to silent Daniel Miller. Both bring broken hearts into their arrangement--and secrets that have been held too long. Filled with gentle romance, The Choice opens the world of the Amish--their strong communities, their simple life, and their willingness to put each other first. Combined with Fisher's exceptional gift for character development, this novel, the first in a series, is a welcome reminder that it is never too late to find your way back to God.

  3. I can only comment on the people I know. My girlfriend who died before Christmas her Dad was Amish. Her mom was not. When he fell in love and wanted to marry her, he was shunned by his community. I think that is awful. We can't help who we love.

  4. I would Love to have this book. My fave Amish writer is Beverly Lewis. I do find it interesting to read about an Englisher dating an Amish. It makes me wonder what the Amish character will say about pictures on the wall, etc. Esp. if they are Old Order Amish. That would be quite interesting. I have never heard of this author and would love a chance to be introduced to her books.
    Thanks

  5. I really enjoy Amish fiction, I think because my grandfather has relatives that were Penn. Dutch. (Amish). I really don't care what story line it is, as long is it written with accuracy and has a great story line, characters, etc. This book looks good, thanks for the chance to win it!

  10. I enjoy reading Amish fiction books. I love Beverly Lewis and Wanda Brunstetter (sp?) I am currently reading: "An Amish Gathering" which contains 3 novellas. It is great so far! I don't mind if the storyline includes and Englisher dating an Amish person, in fact I find it rather interesting to see which path they take.

  17. There is a very small Amish Community about 90 miles from where I live. Since, I was a young girl, I have been interested in the Amish way of life. I do like reading about the issues that involve an Amish character who loves a non-Amish
    character. Happy New Year!
