I need your vote. Which music fits the video trailer best?

If you provide some feedback and help me decide which video should be the one I use for promotion, then I will enter you into a drawing for any book of mine that you want. Yes, that's the deal. ANY book. Now if you have all of my books, I will even stretch it to include any other book I own by another author. So that's it. The winner gets to choose.

All you have to do to enter is watch all three videos (each is about a minute long) and vote on the one that fits the book the best given the pictures and the wording shown. Which creates a feel that really makes you want to read the book? That is what I am looking for. Refer your friends, too, and if they mention that you sent them here to vote, you'll get your name in the drawing again for each friend you refer. I am looking for the most feedback I can get. So if you refer three friends then you get four entries. One for you and three more for friends. Oh, and your friends get entered, too. So go for it! I'll select a winner once I get enough comments that I feel satisfied that the input I am getting will help me choose the best one. Thanks everyone! Oh, and if you REALLY want to read Letting Go, and your name is drawn as the winner, remind me in January and I'll send you a copy of the book the moment I get my author copies. Thank you so much!

Entry #1

Entry #2

Entry #3

Have fun, and remember to give me your contact info so I can reach you if you win!

  1. Michelle, after watching all three, my vote is definately for video #3. The music (I think) conveys the mood of the story and the words you have chosen to describe the book. Just my opinion! Do with it what you will. :) I look forward to seeing which on you choose. :)

  2. I like the second one best. I had trouble sitting through the other two. The music was just too slow for me.
    Good luck!

  5. In my humble opinion, I would vote for tune number two. There is a slight change to the music about half way through so I think it fits the theme of your video and book best.

Hi Michelle, Gina from Hott Books suggested I stop by and vote. My favorite is #2. It reminds me of a merry-go-round. Round and round, never stopping, or never ending - fitting for a "pawn of the state" -- never ending.

  7. I vote for 3 :)

I like the quiet understated song that allows the image and text to be center stage :)

    Loud music distracts me.

PS I heard about this on Hott Books by Gina :)

  8. The only one I like at all is #3. The others don't seem to fit.

  9. I have to go with #3. The first tune was boring and the 2nd was a little too happy-go-lucky:)

  10. #3, Michelle. Hands down. It sets the right mood and ties in well with the words and pictures. Don't like the other two at all.

  11. #3 is the best out of the 3 for me.

  12. #2 for me. The other two were boring.

  13. As far as which music I like best, that would be number two. However, it doesn't fit the text that goes with the video - it is far too joyful for such a serious topic as this seems to be. Therefore, I would have to cast my vote for number 3, even though I don't like the music as much. It fits and portrays the mood much better than the first two. It is hesitant in places and that adds to the tension.

Not that it makes any difference, but this is the opinion of a concert musician - that's me! :)

It was between #2 and #3 but #3 won out as it seemed to fit the frame of the story best.

  15. # 3, the other two were just too happy, #3 sound so soothing. I would love to win, but I know so would a lot of others.

Beautiful video, Michelle! And I definitely like #3 the best.

  17. Hi Michelle, thanks for asking our opinions. I prefer #3. It seems to have that tension needed to portray the push me pull you type of activity the title suggests. The music seems to follow the picture script on the screen. There is sweetness and innocence about the children's pictures exemplefied thru the timing of the music. That's my pick of the 3. #3. Thanks for the giveaway of one of your books. Now, that would be a hard choice!

  18. I like video # 1 best. The music seemed timed just right for the pic changes. Near the end the music sounded a little like wedding bells, which implied a romantic story.

Video #2 was nice, and I liked the way the music trailed off at the end - seemed peaceful, like the book had a satisfying ending, but the music seemed to trail off too early.

Video # 3 put me to sleep. The tune seemed to almost disappear at times, being too soft.

    Good luck with your choice.

  19. #3! Definitely video 3. The first was sounded like a western and the mild one was too happy. 3 was more emotional sounding. Can't wait to see which one you choose and to read the book.:)

  20. Definitely # 3!! I think it evoked the emotions one would expect the reader to have when reading the book, based on the title and synopsis.

    Good luck on choosing!

#2 gets my vote! #1 wasn't the right sound..... #3 varied too much in the volume level.....#2 was just right!

I would definitely have to say #3.
    The music just FITS.
Its more "serious" and almost a little sad, and the book looks kinda sad, serious.
I don't know. when i watched it i was like"this music totally fits the video."
    Hope it helps!

  26. My vote goes for #3.

    #1: Sounds too historical

#2: Too happy for such a serious storyline.

#3: Fits the seriousness of the storyline best, but is too quiet at times. Maybe that could be adjusted.

    My humble opinion!

  27. #3 is nice, but the music is so quiet that it makes the video seem to move too slowly.

#2 is nice too, but I think #1 is the best because there are changes in the music that mirror new elements in the story.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Think #3

#1 is kind of peppy music not bad
#2 seems like the music finished too soon
#3 the music was more mellow for the mood you want.

  31. I think that the music for # 3 fits best with the mood of video. I do like the music for the first two, but I think they might be a little bubbly for the seriousness of the story.

I hope that helps at all! :) Thanks for a chance to win one of your books!

Also, Casey sent me over here! :D

  33. and the survey says....

    20 for #3

    9 for #2

    4 for #1

Well it's a good thing I asked since I started out with #1 and that got the least amount of votes. Soooo...the official background music will be #3. Thanks for listening everyone. Now on to the winner of their choice of book... hang on while I tally the names up and put them in the Randomizer program...

    ReplyDelete
  34. And the winner is...

Lu! (who happened to be the very last entry! The Randomizer rarely picks the first or last entry (at least for me) so it was truly Random. Now to find out what book Lu wants! Thanks everyone I may do this again some time just for the fun of it.

  35. I'm way behind in answering emails. I'm glad you selected #3, because that's my choice. It's very soothing and I think it sums up the feeling of the series.

  36. I like number 3 best. :)

I think the wording might be better in a couple of places. (Just to make the meaning clearer.) But, other than that it looks really good!
