Please tell me which you like better. I'm probably going to have the publisher change the font for the words, so I'm only talking overall design feel here. At first, I thought the top one was
too plain? But maybe it isn't. Suggestions? The picture stays, it's the other stuff I'm thinking about tweaking. Your comments are appreciated. So should I keep the border or dump it? Thanks! For a description of the book content, see the previous post...
I like the second one with the lacy line

I honestly prefer the first one. I think the lace adds a cheese factor that you don't need. Keep it clean and pretty.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Edna. The lace adds a touch of elegance and frames the picture nicely.
ReplyDeleteI would be more likely to read the one without the border. I read the description of the book, too, and it sounds like you have a great story here, whichever cover you go with.
ReplyDeleteI vote number two as well. Nice!
ReplyDeleteSecond question. Which would be less likely to attract teens. If it's the one without the border then I'm going to use the one with the border. My novel is not suitable for readers under age 18.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one,
ReplyDeleteI like the second one best. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the lacy border is pretty.
ReplyDeleteThere are aspects of both that are good, but the newer one catches the eye better, I think. It has more contrast, with more dark space against the cream (or white) spread. Also, your name is in the darker space, so it stands out! In addition, the heart is filled in, so it is more eye-catching.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the "Never Without" gets a little lost. It'd be nice if they'd move the back graphic over to the right just a tad. That way the "r" in "never and the "t" in "without" would land on white!
Honestly I'm not a fan of either. I do think the top one is a bit plain but I don't like the lace on the second one, perhaps a different kind of lace?
ReplyDeleteCallista, thanks for your comment. We've gone with a totally different cover. If you check the bookmark post you'll see the new one.
