Now I'm giving away City of the Dead by T. L. Higley!

To enter to win a copy of this book simply post a comment telling me if you like Egyptian history, and if so, what intrigues you about it. I will pick a winner next Sunday, March 15th.

About the book:

Up from the sands of Egypt rises the Great Pyramid, where Hemiunu, Pharaoh's Grand Vizier, commands the historic building project as he orders his life-with justice, truth, and precision. But when a series of murders at the site threatens chaos, Hemi must abandon his legacy to hunt down the killer who may be closer than he would like to think. Can he restore justice to the city before his careful life and work are destroyed, or will a mysterious people and their strange God uncover the secret past that Hemi has tried to forget?

My thoughts:

I have this book and plan to read it this week. If I finish before I pick a winner I will post the review here. Peace and best wishes to you!

  4. I don't know a whole lot about Egyptian history, but I think if anything their history is alluring because of the sense of mystery and grandeur...like with the pyramids and hyroglyphics. Thanks for a chance to win the book! I'm interested in what you think of it so far if you're reading it right now...

    Anyway, thanks again!

Shadow of Colossus was amazing; I can't wait to read this book.

The link between Egyptian history and the Bible fascinates me. There are a few different beliefs on who was the Pharoah when the Israelites left, and it's interesting to hear all the debates and try to figure out which one knew Moses.

I have my degree in history and Egypt was one of the first civilizations that peaked my interest. I love how advanced they were, and how very different they are from any civilization today. All of their mysticism and religion is beautiful.

  15. I've always been intrigued by Egyptian history - it's one of those things we can SEE and wonder about. It's hard to imagine people living in that time and place, but they did! The pyramids that they built really blow me away. I would love to see one in person someday. :-)

    Thanks for the giveaway!
